The Brother B917vs is a specially modified chain stitch machine equipped with automatic thread cutter and presser foot lifting mechanisms. It is used to attach the head rope and lead line to gill nets. Stitch in ropes up to 10mm. Speed 1500 stitches per minute.

 

The machine can be situated in a smaller space as the nets need not be hung up. Rigging by machine is about 6 to 10 times faster than by hand.
